Notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, is now cooling his heels at the ‘VIP wing’ of the police cell at the Force Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID), Garki, in the Federal Capital Teritory after he was transferred there for further findings into his case.
Reports say Evans and his accomplices were transferred from Lagos to Abuja last Monday by men of the IG Intelligence Response Team on the express instructions of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in order to ensure proper and unhindered investigation into his criminal activities.
According to a source, security around the FCIID has been beefed up in order to forestall any breach on the facility and also safeguard the cell where other notorious crime suspects were being detained.
The source said; “Evans was brought to the FCIID on Monday and since then, the atmosphere changed. You now have more security personnel on duty as part of measures to prevent any unpleasant development. Some unidentified persons have also been visiting the suspect.”

The relocation of Evans has now quashed the false alarm which created panic among some of the kidnappers victims, who were made to believe that Evan’s had escaped from police custody.
The police while reacting, frowned at the report which tended to create the impression that Evans had disappeared from police custody. It also released a statement with Ref No. CZ:5300/FPRD/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.1, reacting to the report.
